The NHL approved the sale of Ottawa: the billionaire bought the club for $950 million

The NHL board of directors unanimously approved the purchase of the Ottawa Senators team by 58-year-old billionaire Michael Endlauer, the Ottawa Sun newspaper reports.

Endlauer bought 90 percent of the club’s shares for $950 million; The club’s previous owners, Anna and Olivia Melnik, who inherited the team, kept 10 percent.

– The Ottawa Senators are an incredible organization, from the players to the staff to some of the most passionate fans in hockey history. “My family and I are very happy to officially be part of the Ottawa team,” the Senators press service quotes the new owner.

Andlauer is also owner and CEO of Andlauer Healthcare Group Inc, a healthcare delivery company.

The Senators did not make the playoffs last NHL season.
