“According to preliminary data, three people died from methadone poisoning,” the agency stated.

From November 17 to 20, 19 people were admitted to the Astrakhan clinical hospital due to poisoning with narcotic and psychotropic substances. According to preliminary data, people suffered from methadone, which they could confuse with another drug, mephedrone, and not calculate the dosage.

The police began searching for the suspects and soon arrested three foreigners who could be involved in the distribution of these drugs.

The Ministry of Health of the Astrakhan region previously reported that six of the victims were in serious condition.
