Russian sambo wrestlers took 6 gold medals out of 11 possible after the first day of the World Cup – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Six first places went to the Russians competing under the flag of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS). In men, the winner was Roman Zheltov (+98 kg). Among women, the best were Olga Poligalova (50 kg), Ekaterina Tsibert (59 kg), who won the World Beach Sambo Championships two weeks ago, and Olga Mikheeva (+80 kg). In combat sambo, Pavel Malkovsky (64 kg) and Avanes Abgaryan (79 kg) won.

The champions include athletes from five countries. Kazakh sambo perform well and took two first places among men. It is good that among the winners are sambo fighters from Bulgaria, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
