The Saudi state oil company Aramco announced this Sunday the discovery of two natural gas fields, nicknamed Al Hiran and Al Mahakik, in the southeastern area called Vacuum Quarter, which covers regions of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Oman, according to the minister. of Saudi Energy, Abdulaziz bin Salmán.
According to the minister, cited by the official Saudi news agency SPA and reported by EFE, the state oil company discovered these two natural gas fields, in addition to five other deposits of this resource in other previously explored areas.
The discovery in Al Hiran occurred when a flow of natural gas from the Hanifa field was recorded at a rate of 30 million cubic feet and 1,600 barrels of condensate per day, while a flow of 3.1 million cubic feet was also obtained cubic of natural gas from the Al Arab field, in the same area.
On the other hand, a flow of 0.85 million cubic feet of natural gas was recorded in Al Mahakik, according to the minister.
This is in addition to the discovery of natural gas in five other fields previously explored in the Saudi southeast, such as Jallah, Shadoun, Mazalij, Al Sarah and Atwad, where flows of 46, 15.5, 14, 11, 7 and 5.1 million cubic feet of this resource, respectively.
Aramco, the world’s largest oil company, expects to produce around 2.2 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas by 2036, in addition to 425 million cubic feet per day of gas associated with ethane.
